Ben & Andy do a Postcard

A bit of inspiration!

On Tuesday i went and saw a lecture by Jack Teagle which has really inspired me, in a general way but also for this postcard project in particular. He said something that has stuck with me which was 'Keep your fingers in pies at all times' which i think fits in quite nicely with the idea of Hope, which is one of the words thats a possibility for this project. So with this in mind, i want to create an image that is quite literally based around fingers in pies. I have thought about using an octopus character because tentacles are always quite exciting visuals, it reminds me of the Kellogs Variety Pack advert...

More Research

Nate Williams

I really like Nate Williams use of lettering and text. I think the colours he uses in his work are really effective and spot on for his style of illustration and the subject matters of his pieces. When looking at his work there was a massive range of products he has created. I love the image of the cushion above, i like the collage sort of style and the mixture of block colours and line drawings.

Tyson Bodnarchuk

Tyson Bodnarchuk Postcards - He is one of my favourite illustrators, probably due to his recreations of Star Wars Characters, which is what influenced a lot of my drawings when i was younger. I really like this postcard, it is simple and just in black and white but uses both text and image which is relevent to this project. I love to draw monsters, but i have used them in a lot of the projects i have done recently and think maybe i should step away from my monsters! However, i would quite like the chance to develop some of my monstery ideas further in Illustrator as i still don't feel very confident on it and have only really used it once.
